4. God Of War 2 - Kratos Could Go Back In Time And Save His Family

Kratos' entire personality is rage and revenge personified, driven mad enough to kill his own wife and daughter then going after those responsible. In his second outing, he manages to defeat Clotho and grasp the power of the Loom of Fate, which allows time-travel.

It begs the question of why not use this incredible power to go back and save his family? He would have them back and not need to go on his epic quest of vengeance. Fans have rightly pointed out Kratos had the perfect opportunity to get his life back, but somehow ignored it.

Well, if you choose an event that isn't the path the game wants, the mirror of destiny cracks and Kratos cannot jump back to that time. This implies he can't simply hop to any time period.

Conspiracy theorists will attempt to cover for this and blame game mechanics, but if you dig into the lore you'll find out that a person's "thread" breaks upon death. Therefore he would need to find his family's threads that snapped off wherever they may be, to go back to this point.

He also risks the Grandfather Paradox, as he would have to kill his younger self to save them, which would make his present self disappear.
