8. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2
When the Nintendo Switch was launched in 2017, Breath of the Wild came with it.
It's a game that stands tall in gaming, throwing a long, foreboding shadow that many mimic but few can master. From the amazing story-driven plot hooks to the in-depth and unique RPG mechanics, this game hooks you in until it lands you with a huge and explorative open-world; all while refusing to hold your hand while doing so.
We don't know much about Breath of the Wild 2, but it was developed while preparing for Breath of Wild's DLC. The team came up with so many concepts, some of which could not be executed due to technological limitations, so they wanted to use their ideas for a new game.
Also, the sequel will build up the original setting with a new plot and gameplay, inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2.
The reason this game is so low on this list is that there is no guarantee that it will be released in 2021. The sequel was released in 2019, and we know precious little about it, as described above. On the other hand, though, Nintendo is known to keep all their cards close to their chest until months before they are released, so there is hope.
From the little details we do know though, this sequel will have a tough climb to match the original.
