10 Massive E3 2016 Rumours You're Not Supposed To Know
7. Nintendo Have Held Back Zelda For The NX
If we go with the idea that Nintendo's NX console rumours are true for a second (because in reality, they're actually yet to comment on it in an official capacity, despite outlets running with it for almost a year now), they're going to need something rather large to draw in the masses.
According to NEOgaf poster Trevelyan9999 (the same poster who predicted the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon months before Nintendo), the very reason Nintendo have gone from showcasing their new Zelda to essentially going radio silent, is to unveil a new and improved version on the NX.
Don't worry Wii U fans, the rumour also states The Big N are working on a version for past gen too, essentially doing for the U and NX what Sony and Microsoft did for their consoles during the transitional stages. With Nintendo pioneering backwards compatibility through the Virtual Console (and adding SNES compatibility to the New 3DS), it's entirely possible the NX plays all former hardware's titles regardless, allowing for Zelda to release as an NX launch title as well as on the Wii U.
Either way, it's destined to sell NX units this year one way or another.
