10 Masterpiece Video Games You DIDN'T Play

It's common knowledge amongst Nintendo fans that the SNES title, Earthbound, tanked in the West despite being a massive success in Japan. sadly, most people never heard of HAL Laboratory's RPG until the protagonist, Ness, popped up in Super Smash Bros.

But after being rereleased many times over the years (and added in 2022 to Nintendo Switch Online), millions of people got their chance to play this criminally underrated title.

So, when its sequel, Mother 3, was announced, gamers vowed not to make the same mistake as before. And when the Earthbound sequel received universal praise, fans were even more desperate to get their hands on it.

But because Mother 3 was only officially released in Japan, the only way the gamers in the rest of the world could play it is if they bought a fan-translated copy. Although the game was finally released worldwide in 2016, it was only on the Wii U's Virtual Console. And because the Wii U was the most unsuccessful mainstream Nintendo console ever, it felt like the company was going out of its way to ensure gamers couldn't play Mother 3.
