10 Media Franchises That Need The LEGO Treatment
9. Planet of the Apes
With 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes wrapping up the
new reboot trilogy, enough modern material is there for LEGO to adapt into an
exciting gaming experience. The franchise is no more adult that something like
Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, and the appeal of apes would help to draw in a
younger audience. As well as this, the Planet of the Apes franchise has been a
part of popular culture since 1968, creating multiple generations of fans that
would be pulled into a LEGO title.
The reboot trilogy has a host of characters, both ape and human, that would be able to provide a wide cast for the game. On top of this, each film has numerous actions packed set pieces that would function as fun and exciting levels. Examples of this would be the battle on the Golden Gate Bridge, the confrontation with Koba and the escape from the Sierra Nevada base.
The legacy of the classic films could provide bonus content
and characters for LEGO to adapt, both from the original quintology and the
2001 Tim Burton remake film. Characters such as George Taylor, Cornelius, Zira
and Dr. Zaius from the original film, as well as characters like Leo Davidson, Ari
and General Thade from the Tim Burton remake, would be fun inclusions to the
roster of characters for fans of the classic films.
