10 Mega Man Facts You Probably Never Knew

4. Street Fighter Influence

Mega Street Fighter In Mega Man X and Mega Man X2, there are secret powers similar to Ryu and Ken's abilities from Street Fighter. Despite Mega Man being Capcom's mascot, the company loves placing Street Fighter references in many of their games, and Mega Man X was no exception. In Mega Man X, after a series of steps to follow, the Hadouken can be obtained. In Mega Man X2, it's the Shoryuken. On top of this, Mega Man X4 presents a Maverick Boss named Magma Dragoon that has both the Hadouken and the Shoryuken. In Mega Man X8, Zero can also obtain a version of the Shoryuken. It is possible that many Street Fighter references are due to the fact that Mega Man and Street Fighter were originally released in the same year, 1987. Note that this is not counting Street Fighter X Mega Man, despite what the image shows.
