Arkham Knight – the much anticipated fourth instalment in the franchise – released last year, promoted as the final instalment in the celebrated Arkham series. Unfortunately, the game was abysmal, plagued by a myriad of technical problems upon release, especially on PC.

For many, the game was virtually unplayable, riddled with glitches and game-breaking bugs, mostly running at twelve FPS and crashing constantly in between.

The original Arkham Asylum was a masterpiece, a celebration of the source material, and a genuine delight.

By comparison, Arkham Knight is tedious; the mandatory vehicle sections are particular irritating, and the narrative is underwhelming, revolving around a single obvious twist and a handful of forgettable B-villains.

That said, it’s still fun, just a massive step down from the original, which is easily the best in the series. The brokenness of the game doesn’t help, the problems persisting despite months of painstaking work to resolve the situation.
