10 Mistakes That Led To WWE 2K's Downfall
9. MyCareer
MyCareer.
That one word should make any longtime fan of WWE games shudder. It's become the single-player experience 2K favour, and that hasn't done their series any favours. When it launched, gaming sites excitedly predicted that it'd mimic NBA 2K's thrilling, story-based nuts n' bolts. Not quite.
Instead, until 2K decided to repackage the entire idea in 2K19, MyCareer was a mind-numbing slog through matches, hokey cutscenes and some of the worst presentation decisions ever; honestly, who had the bright idea to make players literally jog (like they were running through mud) between their car and the Gorilla Position?
MyCareer in 2K20 might not be perfect to look at, but it's a million miles better than the hallway simulator 2K whipped up for years. This was not a good replacement for any WWE star-driven Story Mode, nor was it fun to play through.
