10 MORE Best Pokémon You Never Bothered Catching
2. Drapion
Drapion is another poison and dark type Pokémon, but its one that's often overlooked because it appeared in the same generation as Skuntank. Drapion was more difficult to get, since Skorupi was far less common in the wild than Stunky was, but it also has a wider set of moves that you can use competitively.
One common set involves raising its attack with Swords Dance while beating down your opponent's Pokémon with Knock Off, Poison Jab, and either Earthquake or Aqua Tail for coverage.
Item options can include Black Sludge to heal its HP, Life Orb to raise the power of its attacks even further, or a Shuca Berry to withstand a single ground type attack - by far its biggest weakness.
Battle Armor is the better ability to have on Drapion since it prevents critical hits. Sniper is a fantastic ability, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have Focus Energy to make critical hits happen more often.
Raising its attack and speed EVs will give Drapion that extra push.
