2. Handsome Jack - Borderlands 2

Handsome Jack is the kind of villain you love to hate. Sure, he's a monster who constantly berates you during your time in Borderlands 2 (and the Pre-Sequel), but my word is he a charismatic monster. He knows exactly how to get under the player's skin, and loves the sound of his own voice to boot, but his most important villain trait is that he thinks he's the hero.

Of course, his confident charade eventually snaps the closer you get to derailing his plans for total oppression, before the effects of an ancient artefact and the unlimited knowledge bestowed on him drives him completely bonkers.

Eventually you get the chance to stop his reign of terror for good, with the game offering you the option of personally finishing him off, or letting Lilith do it for you. Let's face it though, everyone decided to get their hands dirty during this final moment, as Jack reiterates in his final moments that he's still the "g*ddamn hero".
