10 More Evil Video Game Villains You Couldn't Wait To Kill

6. Frank Fontaine - Bioshock

Bioshock Frank Fontaine

Frank Fontaine is one of the most iconic villains of all time, and he's one you don't even see for much of Bioshock's runtime. In fact, for the majority of the title you don't even know he's a villain at all, as he communicates to the player in the form of the seemingly friendly Atlas. Throughout the narrative he spins you a yarn about Andrew Ryan, and how both Rapture and Atlas' own family were destroyed at the hands of this man.

He seems like the only sane voice left in Rapture, so you happily follow his orders, until you realise you never had a choice in the matter anyway. After you've done his bidding and killed Ryan, Atlas reveals himself as Frank Fontaine, a mobster, smuggler, and all-around terrible s**t who used your brainwashed mind to take over the underwater city.

From there you break from his control and hunt him down, eventually fighting him in his monstrous, Adam-infused form. Killing him doesn't come with the same visceral intensity of pulverising Andrew Ryan with a golf club, but it's just as satisfying.
