10 (More) Forgotten Video Game Franchises That Need To Make A Comeback

8. Jet Force Gemini

JetForce Aliens are invading the earth? Let€™s send a boy, his sister and his dog. That should take care of it. Jet Force Gemini was developed by the same team as Blast Corps, and is one of three Rare titles on the list (let€™s face it, during the 90s they were knocking out hit after hit). Its huge, expansive worlds, fast-paced and unusual style of varied, frantic action gameplay secured it something of a cult following. Its strength was probably the deep control scheme €“ you could jetpack, swim, crouch, lie down, roll, hang from ledges, jump and drive €“ which led to a truly cinematic experience which is as enjoyable today as it was in 1999. Jet Force Gemini is a hodgepodge of dozens of influences, as varied as Star Wars, Super Mario 64, Metroid, Goldeneye and Aliens, and remains popular with the few who played the original. Surely Juno, Vela and Lupus deserve a second turn in the limelight.
