10 More Great Video Games Based On Movies
4. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
X-Men Origins: Wolverine has the distinction of being a tie-in video game that is way better than the movie it was promoting. The title is a hack-and-slack adventure like its contemporaries such as God of War and Devil May Cry. It even has Hugh Jackman reprise the role of Wolverine as an added bonus.
Combat is satisfying and enables you to slice and dice enemies with the Uncaged Edition being one of the few Marvel games to receive an M rating. Logan's healing factor is also present in a graphic fashion while a rage meter releases his trademark berserker rage and dish out even more brutal attacks.
Environments play a part in the game and certain interactables can be used to dispatch foes. An experience system is also present to upgrade Wolverine's moves and abilities. The title also takes a few liberties from the movie and features elements such as the appearance of Sentinels as well as a cameo from Mystique.
Though the movie is often considered the worst of the X-Men films, its tie-in manages to deliver a violent Wolverine solo adventure which was something the 2009 film was not. With blood and guts flying everywhere, the video game did justice for everyone's favorite mutant.
