Final Fantasy X is in many ways one of the greatest games in the series, but like so many entries into the franchise it also contains a terrible-ass mandatory dungeon that just about everybody hates.

In FFX's case this is unquestionably the Cloister of Trials, a series of a puzzle-based dungeons in which players progress by using spheres to open up passages, move pedestals, and manipulate moving platforms.

Most of the Cloisters serve as minor annoyances at most, save for the more maddeningly complex Cloister in Bevelle Temple. The Bevelle Cloister amps up the frustration factor considerably by giving players a much larger and more intricate dungeon to work through.

Between the complexity and backtracking involved, it's easy to waste hours and hours on this thing, so you're best advised to just use a video guide to get through it as painlessly as possible.

Either way, the Cloisters absolutely obliterate the game's pacing every time they show up, and never more than at Bevelle Temple.
