10 More Movies That Need To Be Video Games

1. The Raid (2012)

Plays Like - Die Hard Arcade, Stranglehold Developer -THQ To be honest, this one doesn€™t really need much of an explanation. If you managed to see Gareth Edward€™s relentlessly brutal ode to classic martial arts flicks and the best of western action cinema, The Raid, you€™ll already know that the hyper stylised action often feels like it€™s come straight out of a video game. With the simple premise of a police raid on a tower block which is overrun by drug dealers and vicious murderers, The Raid offers up action set-piece after action set-piece, all stunningly choreographed so that it resembles a ballet of gruesome, head smashing action. It€™s not only the action which lends itself to a video game conversion either, as The Raid€™s structure is built around Sergeant Jaka literally leading his SWAT team through ascending levels of growing difficulty. Each floor also features its own style of gameplay, ranging from fights with hoards of machete wielding enemies, cover based shootouts, tricky stealth sections and even the need to turn a fridge into a bomb. It all culminates with the big boss, a lengthy battle with the sadistic Mad Dog, which is just as much of a slog for the player as it is for the heroes of the film.
