4. Bad Lieutenant (2009)
Plays Like - Saints Row, Max Payne 3
Developer - Volition Werner Herzogs quazi-remake of Abel Ferrara's disturbing classic is just as barmy as Nicolas Cage's performance as drug addled copper Terence McDonagh. It goes from one extreme to the next and never seems particularly bothered if its making much sense in the process. You could almost apply the same sort of description to the Saints Row series of video games, which let you peddle drugs, revel in sin and even beat people to death with a purple dildo. Playing as Nicolas Cage (returning for voice duties) the city of post-Katrina New Orleans provides a unique environment to explore. In between solving the crimes youll need to continue scoring drugs to suppress your chronic back pain, aided by arresting drug peddlers and nightclub occupants. You can also search for hidden Iguanas dotted around the map, and if youre a real completest, you can also hunt for your beloved childhood spoon. Best of all, the left trigger is your very own Cage-freak-out button, which will activate a bizarre line of dialogue or a disturbing facial expression.
