10 More Video Game Mistakes Left In To Troll You

1. Drowning, Almost - Subnautica

Subnautica Game

Subnautica continues to be a sleeper hit that not enough people have played and it, too, happened to program in a mistake that turned out to be too good to remove. Said programming error occurred when the player runs out of air and the screen fades to black when you die. On the technical side, though, you didn’t actually drown immediately. As the screen faded to black the game let you stay in control for a couple of seconds.

This basically meant that as a result of a technical error, you had a few more seconds than it seemed like you would have to save yourself.

If you did manage to make it to the surface in the last second players were delighted with their ability to cheat death, but if they didn’t they got to experience a few moments of darkness before the sound effort tolled out letting them know they did, in fact, meet their untimely demise. Though this extra couple of seconds was completely unintended, players enjoyed feeling like they had an extra moment to make it out, so the developers chose to leave it in.

Just hope you were one of the few finding yourself just on the edge of being saved and not one of those who didn’t make it to the surface in time.
