10 More Video Game Mistakes Left In To Troll You

10. Tiger Woods Walks On Water - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09

It’s tricky to ensure absolutely everything goes to plan in developing a video game. Especially when said game is 15 years old and a golfing sim where realistic character movement isn’t exactly paramount.

This was basically the issue that came up in EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 where a bug would let the ball fall on a lilypad, in which case your eponymous golfer would spawn next to it to take the shot, essentially making him levitate above the water. Instead of noticing the bug and patching it out so balls could no longer sit on water flora and subsequently spawn miracle-like feats from pro golfers, EA left it in. Not only that, they made an ad featuring Tiger himself hitting a ball onto a lillypad, popping off his socks, and walking across the water to take a shot which, naturally, goes right in the hole.

The ad wraps up with “It’s not a glitch. He’s just that good.”, making fun of players who called it a glitch and delivering some A+ marketing.
