10 More Video Game Mistakes Left In To Troll You

6. Undercover Enemy Turned Spy - Team Fortress

Team Fortress 2
Valve

It’s well known that Team Fortress began as a mod for Quake but one of its most popular classes was only created because of a mistake in the code. Said mistake was a glitch that would sometimes cause a player’s name to appear in the wrong colour, making it seem as if they were on the opposite team.

Though the mistake was fixed in the original mod, the soul of the mistake was retained in the Spy class, created for the Team Fortress game.

Team Fortress’s Spy was able to impersonate a member of the opposite team and aim to successfully take out foes through deception and sabotage. And that’s how a minor graphical glitch in a mod was left in to troll every TF2 player who has ever been fooled by an enemy Spy and stabbed in the back.
