10 Most Anticipated 2020 Video Games

1. The Last Of Us Part II

The Last Of Us 2 Ellie
Sony Entertainment

Release Date: 29 May

With The Last Of Us being selected for countless "Game of the Decade" awards over the last month or so, it goes without saying that excitement for its sequel can't really get much higher.

Initially slated for February, a short delay pushed the game back until the end of May. It's disappointing that we have to wait a little bit longer, sure - especially after waiting over six years already - but Naughty Dog's track record means that we're pretty much guaranteed to get a great game when Part II does finally launch in four short months.

Little is known about the game's story - thankfully - but from the preview footage we've seen so far, it looks to have effectively replicated the brutal and bloody combat of the first game, with a few exciting additions and tweaks (you can go prone this time, and there are enemy dogs!). The fact that we're playing as Ellie should also make things more intense and unforgiving too, since we don't have Joel's massive fists to punch everything in the face this time (at least, not for the whole game).

It's odd that we're so amped up for a game that will probably cause us endless amounts of stress, but the terrifying adrenaline rush of realising that a group of hungry clickers has just discovered our location is something that we can't wait to experience - and attempt to survive - all over again.
