2. Cyberpunk 2077

The Last Of Us 2 Ellie
CD Projekt RED

Release Date: 16 April

It's so hard to imagine a reality where Cyberpunk 2077 comes out and is bad, that we're pretty sure the only negative point many reviewers will have when covering the game is "not enough Keanu Reeves".

CD Projekt Red's followup to the phenomenal Witcher 3, Cyberpunk is another open-world adventure that, instead of being set in a fantasy world of swords, sandals and monsters, takes place in the futuristic dystopia of Night City, a sprawling metropolis that you can explore to your heart's content.

Featuring a law enforcement system, a day-night cycle, dynamic weather, self-driving cars, activities (boxing, shooting ranges, car racing) for your character to take part in, side quests, a lengthy campaign, a fully-customisable protagonist, equipment rarity, a skill tree, and so much more, the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is the very definition of "living and breathing", and it's going to be one of those games that you can get lost in for weeks, even months on end.

The only downside to all of that? There may not be enough time left in the year to play anything else. But if Cyberpunk 2077 is as good as The Witcher 3, then that's not really a bad thing at all.
