10 Most Brutally Hard First-Person Shooter Levels In Video Game History
3. Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis - After Montignac
The 2001 game Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis is a more tactical shooter than most, meaning even the simplest level can be a daunting experience. Such is the case with the level After Montignac, which follows the events of the previous level, where you were forced to retreat into a nearby forest. Thus the goal of After Montignac is straightforward: reach the evacuation point.
This is easier said than done. By far the hardest aspect of this level is escaping the forest you are hiding in. The environment gives the enemies the advantage; allowing them to hide and slowly close in. There are also enemy vehicles nearby that can quickly kill you if you aren’t careful. This adds a significant amount of tension to the mission, and your survival is dependent on you ability to maneuver through the forest and outflank the enemy.
It’s basically a more complicated and deadly game of hide-and-seek, and a pretty nerve-wracking one at that. It doesn’t take much to screw up and start all over again, and without a proper walkthrough this will probably be the experience of most players.
Stay on your toes, take your time and play it smart. Maybe you’ll survive.
