10 Most Cinematic Moments in Video Game History

2. Shadow of the Colossus - The Fifth Colossus

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81gCxvUo-dg Shadow of the Colossus is by far one of the most beautiful games that was ever brought to the PS2 and for a game that came out in 2005, the graphics far out-stripped any of its competitors. I'd love to dedicate a post to each and every colossus, however it's the fifth one that stands out the most for me. There are just aspects to this battle that makes it one of the most cinematic moments in gaming. Whereas many games decide to give you bog standard water and then nothing more underneath, SotC not only gives you a beautiful reflection on the water but really shows you the murkiness of the water when you dive underwater and swim to the stone platforms. It doesn't end just there though, as you jump onto the colossus you can really tell that you're in flight as the wind howls past you. Even when you run up the beasts tail you see how Wander is struggling against the wind and how he puts his arms to protect his face. Throw in a beautiful score composed by Kow Otani and you truly have one of the most cinematic moments in gaming history.
