There's more to come in a later entry on another character from GTA V (no prizes for guessing who), but it'd be amiss not to pay tribute to some of the other brilliantly-written cast members. One of those is Michael De Santa, a man who is most definitely going through a mid-life crisis, struggling with the balance between the violent bravado of his youth and the more relaxed approach of old age. The figurehead of an extremely dysfunctional family, Michael isn't at his core a necessarily evil guy, but he has done some very bad things. Stuck in the trap of wallowing in his own self-despair, De Santa perfectly sums up the phrase from an episode of Scottish comedy show 'Rab C. Nesbitt', who is infamous for uttering the phrase, 'I wish you'd stop putting the responsibility of my life onto me' when a doctor invites him to stop drinking and see if it eases his personal troubles at home. That's how Michael lives his life, but gamers only really see him as an older, more measured individual who gets suckered back into his old ways. There are flashbacks, but an entire game could be dedicated to playing through as a young Michael who doesn't quite have the family ties to hold him back yet.
