10 Most Controversial Video Games Rated 'Adults Only' In America

2. Thrill Kill

Possibly the most well-known Adults Only game that never actually came out, at least in any official capacity. While people can find bootleg copies of "Thrill Kill," as it was basically finished before being cancelled in 1998, it technically shouldn't exist. Controversy about the game was abundant. It featured characters battling in Hell using suggestive special moves such as, "Swallow this," BDSM themes were rampant, and it wasn't uncommon for a character to lose a limb. When the original publisher, Virgin Interactive, was acquired by Electronic Arts Pacific, they deemed it, "Senselessly violent," and felt that even giving it to someone else to release could harm their name beyond reputation. Fearing the worst if it ever came out, "Thrill Kill," was cancelled by Electronic Arts Pacific but its code leaked onto the internet and the rest is easily-found-online-if-you're-desperate-to-try-it history.
