10 Most Criminally Over-Looked PS3 Games You Never Played

3. Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain

Most games focus on creating a great experience for players with realistic graphics and amazing gameplay, but this sometimes comes at the expense of story. What little story there is feels rushed and unnatural. Heavy Rain did things differently by writing the story first, then crafting the gameplay around that story. The result is an amazing, emotion-driven journey where the actions you take influence the game's endstory. Heavy Rain has four main characters on a quest to solve a series of murders by a mysterious figure known as the Origami Killer. Each of these characters is playable and has unique abilities and gameplay sequences that add to your bank of knowledge. The game has several unique features, one being its reliance on quicktime events and precise button pressing to intiate events or make choices. Another is its lack of a game-over scenario. Main characters can be killed and quicktime events failed without ending the story; instead, each failure or victory can lead to a different game outcome. Although the game's pacing can seem slow, its focus on story is unparalleled, making this a great PS3 gem.
