10 Most Disappointing Games of 2012

2. Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth

Avengers

The original idea for this game was a first-person action game where players could take control of their favorite Marvel heroes, which sounded like the only movie tie in game that could ever impress me. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this game and was excited when I finally saw the pre-alpha footage: it looked good and broke the status-quo for superhero games. For Marvel fans, it was perfect timing, the Avenger's movie was going to come out and so would the game - what more could we ask for? Sadly several weeks before the movie was to be released, THQ pulled the plug on the Avengers game and broke my heart, but then after the movie rose to the top of the box-office and earned an extreme amount of money, the game was pulled out of the rubbish bin. Any positive reaction was quickly diluted when it turned out the game was to be remade in a whole new way. The slick-looking first person aspect was lost and the game became one that I frown upon now. The game that was released and the game that I unfortunately bought is nothing more than a terrible fighting game, in which players select their two favorite Avengers and pitch them against each other in a terrible Kinect-oriented way. As you can see the game that was released is a huge downgrade from the amazing pre-alpha footage. I am genuinely upset and disappointed with the way everything turned out. If you still aren't convinced, watch both gameplay videos below and see for yourself. Pre-Alpha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xssIvdnCHik Real Game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJmyFhgABWI

Occasionally he will enter productive mode and actually do something, but until then, he keeps up-to-date on everything that Doctor Who and DC Comics have to offer.
