Could it be any other? Well, yes. It could be a whole host of bosses from Bloodborne, but there is a case to be made for the Orphan of Kos. Whilst the One Reborn might have the theatrical nature and Ebrietas is the embodiment of Lovecraftian disgust, The Orphan is simply putrid. From its introduction to its weapon, it is vile. And that's amazing.
The Orphan is born from a deceased Great One and is literally squeezed out right in front of you. The way it claws its way out, with steam rising from its warm body hitting the cool air, is gruesome. It's decrepit and aged face, and hunched over spindly body, are horrifying. And then, it charges at you swinging its own placenta around like a mace.
It is one of the best boss fights in the game, it is disgusting and gruesome, and in terms of sheer grotesqueness, it is beautiful...
