9. Beppi The Clown (Cuphead)
One of the more recent additions to the "spooky clowns in video games" scene, Beppi The Clown is one of the many tough bosses you'll encounter while playing through 2017's gorgeous run-and-gun platformer Cuphead.
Aside from being fiendishly difficult, it's Beppi's arsenal of demented facial expressions and movements that make him a scarily memorable opponent: throughout each phase of the battle, his enormous toothy grins and wild, bulging eyes are hard to look away from, and in a game where literally just blinking can cause you to make a fatal mistake... that's not good.
Beppi's ability to shapeshift also produces some unsettling imagery. In particular, his final form - where he turns into a massive chair swing that takes up the entire screen - makes his face go absolutely crazy, like he's drunk at the club and the DJ has just put on his favourite banger.
He also comes packing that signature "evil clown" laugh, which can be heard right before his aforementioned final form. Probably because he's excited to kill you.
