10 Most Disturbing Sci-Fi Video Games You'll Ever Play

6. Aliens: The Computer Game

Dead Space
Electric Dreams

Let's be honest, this list could easily have been made up almost entirely of games based on the Alien franchise.

Aliens: The Computer Game, however, stands head and shoulders above so many others based purely on the level of fear and anxiety it generates.

The limitations of Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC computers dictated a game with a limited viewpoint.

The player sees only a small section of corridor at any given point, and is asked to scroll left and right in search of the correct door through which to progress.

With the vital signs of your squad displayed below the main action, you can swap between Hicks, Hudson and co. at will, and can lose squad members to the dreaded Xenomorph off-camera, so to speak.

And then there's the motion tracker... It's ALWAYS the motion tracker.

With such a limited field of vision, the steadily increasing 'bee-beep, bee-beep' of the tracker will alert you to the presence of the Alien before you actually see it.

You frantically pan left and right for a glimpse of this twin-jawed killing machine, but - too late - it's already upon you.

The last thing you see before the screen turns to static is teeth.

An absolute classic to this day.
