7. Rayquaza - Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Since his first appearance in Pokemon Ruby, Rayquaza has been one of the many Pokemon to appear everywhere, making appearances in a multitude of subsequent games and in other spinoffs and most notably, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Appearing as a boss against Diddy Kong and Fox McCloud when the latter’s ship is knocked out of the air by the emerald serpentine dragon, a lot of the boss fights in Brawl can be heralded as great, with the combat and gameplay lending itself to fun and engaging fights, but Rayquaza is by far one of the most memorable. From the interesting design and challenging move-set Rayquaza is just a cool and fun fight.

While his appearances is the Pokemon games are by far the more well known, the term 'boss fight' is loosely held when regarding the legendaries as focus is more on capturing them as trophies, rather than beating them. His appearance in Brawl however, ticks all the points that make up a great boss fight. And to top it all off, he’s a dragon. And as we previously established, dragons are cool.
