10 Most Epic Moments In Super Mario History
9. Meowser - Super Mario 3D World
It's fair to say that Bowser has turned from being the undeniably evil enemy in the franchise's first few games, into something significantly less scary these days. His poor hammer switch and lava lake placements have almost become a joke within Nintendo games at this point, but Super Mario 3D World decided to break with tradition and introduce the world to a Super-Bell wearing version of their chief antagonist: Meowser.
This oddly-adorable version of the Koopa King can now climb up the walls of his Great Tower, continue to breath fire and swipe at Mario with either his claws or tail and can now even use the Double Cherry to multiply himself in his pursuit of the player.
Meowser's boss fight is the perfect way to send off Super Mario 3D World and is, arguably, the most original Bowser fight the franchise has ever produced. It makes use of the game's gorgeous high-definition visuals for both the setting and the characters, has some solid methods of making the 3D visuals stand out and just has that undeniable Nintendo charm which keeps everything from the level memorable.
