Speaking of multiplayer experiences, ARMS is attempting to do for an entirely new generation what Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out once did for their parents.

Once again being framed as a one-on-one fighter, gameplay is predicated on constantly dodging, playing the position game and nailing a succession of specific punches for the win. You can do this either with motion controls or standard buttons - and in an arcade ladder, against another player or online - however the real meat of ARMS is in its simplicity.

Yes, there are attachments for your arms that range from defensive parasols to homing rockets, frisbees to whiplash-like tendrils, but how are you going make fist meet face? An array of minigames like basketball and volleyball compliment occasional arenas comprised of moving platforms, but how can you outthink your opponent when it matters most?

Getting lost in the permutations of answering that question is where ARMS truly shines, and though you'll tire of it solo, having a mini ARMS tournament amongst your friends is one of the best experiences on the Switch, bar none.
