8. Force Norman Further Into Addiction - Heavy Rain

There are many tough decisions to be made to save Shaun and uncover the Origami Killer, but one of the worst decisions you can actively make is forcing FBI Agent Norman Jayden further into his addiction to a fictional narcotic named Triptocaine.

Whilst there are a couple of instances in the game where he consumes the substance regardless, there are many cases where you can block him from indulging in this mind-altering drug. Norman initially began to use Tripto to enhance his focus whilst using ARI (Added Reality Interface) - an experimental technology used to help investigate crime scenes more effectively - but is constantly at risk of suffering withdrawals.

Norman becomes obsessed with catching the Origami Killer, but because of his over-reliance on ARI and his ever-closing window to uncover the true killer before Ethan is framed, Norman indulges in Tripto again in the mission 'Solving the Puzzle'.

Norman can die in this mission, as he suffers severe bleeding from his eyes and nose as a result of a combination of the ARI and Tripto.

Giving into or resisting his addiction does not affect the ending of the story, which makes the player forcing Norman to spiral further into addiction all the worse.
