10 Most Hated Mobile Games From Great Video Game Franchises

7. Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam

The Tony Hawk series began by riding the wave of the boom in interest in extreme sports at the turn of the millennium, converting this into console-defining early releases, and even a second generation, with the likes of American Wasteland and Project 8 still being very good games into the second half of the 2000s. The largely unplayable Tony Hawk Ride would release in 2009, and the franchise has still not really ever recovered.

Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam was unfortunately part of the latter group of games, releasing on mobile in 2018 to much the same criticisms the rest of the series had been receiving for almost a decade, including bad physics, and a dearth of new ideas for the license, with added microtransactions to boot.

At this point there have been so many failed attempted reboots of the series that it is difficult to see where they go next. With remakes of Pro Skater 1 & 2 a rare hit in 2020, it would not be a surprise to see them look at further remasters for current consoles, and with any luck, stay away from the mobile market for a while.
