10 Most Hated Mobile Games From Great Video Game Franchises

5. Ridge Racer Accelerated

In fairness, Ridge Racer may have long stopped being a premium racing series by the time of the release of 2009’s Accelerated. The franchise’s games had been a revolutionary arcade experience, before transitioning well onto various ‘90s and early ‘00s consoles. The series would not be able to keep up as Gran Turismo, Project Gotham, and Forza forged ahead to the next generations, but it certainly had its time at the top.

A common theme by this point in the series, the game would already be a little outdated by the time it came to market, for the most part being a port of 2006’s Ridge Racer 2 for the PSP, complete with all of the awkwardly recalibrated controls, and jarring gameplay tweaks that could be expected from jamming a portable game onto a touchscreen phone.

Ridge Racer Accelerated proved to be one of the final nails in the coffin of the franchise, with no current plans to follow up on the most recent release, also for mobile, in the four years since Ridge Racer Draw & Drift.
