Can anyone explain the endless joy gamers ring from the Big Head Mode? Throughout gaming history it has cropped up in many influential games, and enhances every one endlessly. No definitive origin has been established for the Big Head Mode, but most gaming buffs agree it started out as a bug in the early days of gaming. A favourite big head mode included that of the NBA Jam. It's a feature which recurs in new instalments of the game, even on mobile versions. The advantages the mode gives aren't particularly clear, but it's great fun to look at. A recent popular iteration of Big Head Mode came in Batman: Arkham City. It doesn't serve much purpose here, except for being 'f*cking hilarious', as the gamer guys at Rooster Teeth observed. It works on most modes other than easy, and it takes a bit of control-twiddling to unlock it.
