7. Supply And Demand – Ricardo Diaz
Another first in Vice City was the ability to take to the water in speedboats, very 1980's. While you couldn't yet swim being able to get across water added another way to get between the two main islands in the game.
The mission takes place while you are still doing jobs with Lance for Diaz. It is the second of back-to-back missions in a speedboat and one which shows the best elements of the game on the water.
You start off racing against other boats to pick up a package which isn't straight forward given the boats are tricky to handle, before taking over as the shooter to take out the opposition. It is similar to the Phnom Penh 86 mission for Diaz, with Lance at the wheel with you taking down the bad guys.
The mission also features one of the games real set piece moments as you shoot down an incoming helicopter while on the boat.
