10 Most Iconic Mortal Kombat Weapons

We have witnessed dozens of weapons in the Mortal Kombat series over the years. Some kombatants have wielded obvious armaments such as swords, daggers, and spears. Some fighters use more elaborate utilities like chakrams, kunais, or naginatas. (Hell, Robocop uses the frickin' ED-209 robot!)

But some gamers were a tad confused when they saw Kitana entering the Mortal Kombat tournament armed with nothing more than a pair of fans. Considering she's going up against four-armed Shokans and teleporting centaurs, Kitana looked like she was a little out of her depth.

However, Kitana's fans are tipped with five razor-sharp blades each, allowing the Edenian princess to make short work of anyone dumb enough to stand in her way. Not only can she slice and dice her rivals with her steel fans, they can return to her after being thrown, much like a boomerang.

Sadly, these bladed weapons don't exist in the world. They would be too heavy for practical use and the wielder would probably chop off their own fingers trying to use them.

Nevertheless, they are Kitana's most identifiable trait and she looks badass when she hurls them on the battlefield.
