10 Most MADDENING Bosses In SoulsBorne Games

8. Capra Demon (Dark Souls)

The above photo shows the Capra Demon doing what he does best - winding up to crush a Dark Souls neophyte under his preposterously large club.

The inclusion of good old Cappy may raise some eyebrows among SoulsBorne veterans - he is by far and away the easiest boss on this list - but for many gamers this boss battle was where Dark Souls' infamous "git gud" mentality first made itself apparent.

Up to this point, Dark Souls' bosses are surprisingly straightforward affairs. The Asylum Demon is a literal tutorial boss, and the Taurus Demon telegraphs its attacks so blatantly it might as well be attacking you with a semaphore flag. The Capra Demon, however, is where things get interesting. Controller-snappingly interesting

This is because Cappy D doesn't fight alone. The undead ovine brings two snarling dogs with him into battle, and its these feral hounds that will give conniptions to Dark Souls novices. Trying to simultaneously dodge a pair of angry canines while their 10-foot master attempts to hit a home run with your skull feels nigh-on impossible at first, and is the first of many boss-based brick walls Dark Souls throws your way.

Subsequent playthroughs reveal that the Capra Demon is actually one of Dark Souls' easier bosses, but for those just starting out the goat-faced demon is the first real indicator of the soul-crushing frustration that typifies the series.
