1. Chrono Trigger - Any Character-Centric Sidequest
When every facet of a game works perfectly in conjunction with each other, the result would be something like Chrono Trigger. When Chrono Trigger was released 20 years ago, its multiple endings, the big roster of lovable characters, epic music, and the great storyline, were considered groundbreaking and it helped pave the way for future game design in the years to come. But what Chrono Trigger particularly excelled at was the addition of optional side-quests, so much so that it's easier to say that all the side-quests were memorable than go through the nearly impossible task of picking out just one. What made Chrono Trigger's optional side-quests stand out was that each side quest not only strengthened the overall narrative and sweetened an already rich universe, but there were dedicated side-quests focused solely on developing and deepening each playable character whilst reshaping the final narrative according to the actions taken. Character-centric side-quests like these are quite common in games today, but it was almost an anomaly 20 years ago, which is probably why (amongst many other reasons) Chrono Trigger still holds up against the best games on sale today. If it is possible for a Final Fantasy VII remake to happened, what will it take for a new Chrono Trigger game or a remake to happen, Square Enix?? What were your favourite side-quests? My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
