When Rockstar Games decided to answer the question 'what will happen when you put a GTA game in the wild west?' Red Dead Redemption is the glorious result. Players are introduced to John Marston and what unfolds is an epic tale of family, betrayal, bloodshed, and of course, redemption. But in addition to the awesome storyline, Rockstar have decided to spoil players with exceptional side-quests as well, especially the stand-out 'I Know You' side-quest. During the quest, Marston meets an enigmatic, top hat-wearing man who seems to know more about Marston than a stranger should. Between giving Marston a few simple but morally difficult tasks, the strange man waxes lyrical over life and foreshadowing Marston's fate. As the mission concludes, Marston shoots the strange man out of frustration, only to find himself shooting into thin air. The questline was strange and weird, but the pieces fell together at Marston's demise at the end of the game, resulting in crazy fan speculation and elevating 'I Know You' from 'good quest' to 'crazy good'. Who or what is this man? Is the man a supernatural or metaphysical occurrence in an otherwise grounded reality? Is Marston just seeing dead people or is this man his conscience? It's still not 100% clear, but the fact it is still getting attention is a testament to how good the quest is.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
