10 Most Offensive Moments In Duke Nukem History
1. Everything About Duke Nukem Forever
Considering the 15 year development of Duke Nukem Forever, not to mention the delays and the chases for more powerful hardware, it was certain the game was not to live up to the incredible hype. Critics bashed it and many fans saw it as a slap in the face for the franchise. The graphics, AI and gameplay did not impress most people, and the modern touches like a two weapon limit, linear levels and regenerating shield upset longtime fans.
Although, Duke Nukem Forever was never intended to be a second Duke Nukem 3D game. Every reveal trailer demonstrated linear level segments, and the Ego shield could be increased by doing Duke-like things, which was very helpful for the tougher battles.
The downloadable content, however, was a major improvement, featuring more enjoyable campaign levels and even multiplayer maps that parody games like Doom, Team Fortress 2 and more. Still, DNF will go down as an infamous example of vapourware in the video game industry, and is undoubtedly the most offensive thing ever to happen in the entire series.
