The New Super Mario series helped rejuvenate the 2D retro style of platforming Mario had built his legacy around, but it's safe to say that it took some time for the series to really find its way when it came to its power ups.

New Super Mario Bros. might have only brought with it the Blue Shell, Tiny Mushroom and Mega Mushroom as new original items, but its sequel, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, changed the game with its collection of items.

Whilst most of these are purposefully over powered in comparison to the DS game, no item has made a Mario game more easy than the Propeller Mushroom.

Found in Item Boxes and the game's collection of Toad Houses, there are no shortages of this power up for players to find and it will suit Mario up in an all-red outfit with a small propeller on the top of his hat.

Whilst in the Propeller Suit, Mario can quickly burst up into the air and float across the level without too much issue, cutting out most of the obstacles the level has to offer. On top of that, there's the added bonus of being able to drill straight down and take out enemies or rectify any poor platforming without too much hassle.
