10 Most Overlooked Video Games Of 2016
7. The Witness
Who’d have thought a puzzle game would be one of the most intriguing titles of 2016? After the success of 2008’s Braid, it was pretty ballsy of Jonathan Blow and his team at Thekla, Inc. to plough their money into a full-on 3D puzzler, however, it was a move that paid off.
Those who’ve played the likes Myst may have a slight advantage coming into this one but, honestly, that doesn’t count for much when you realise you’ve got 650 puzzles and around 100 hours of mind-bogglingly maddening gameplay ahead of you.
So how can a game that frustrates you to the point of scratching your own eyes out actually be any good? Because it fills you with a sense of pride, relief and glory unlike any other puzzler you’ve played in your life. You’ll feel like a champion every single time you overcome a particularly tricky challenge, you’ll even find yourself bragging to friends about your superior brain power.
Gamers with a short-fuse need not apply but, if you feel like you have the patience to crack this mammoth, it’s a very rewarding experience.
