10 Most Overlooked Video Games Of 2021

9. Mundaun

Mundaun horror game
Hidden Fields

Mundaun is something of a horror fan's wet dream: a lovingly hand-drawn spook fest set in the folklore-heavy setting of the Swiss Alps.

This small-team effort sees players take control of a man returning to the town of Mundaun following the death of his grandfather. Despite getting a message from the village's priest saying not to make the trip and that everything is definitely, definitely fine, he does so anyway only to discover a secret curse was inflicted on the land and its residents decades prior.

This is a scary game, but it's also full of the black-comedy idiosyncrasies of the best folk horror stories. One minute you'll be fighting off animated scarecrow monsters in the snowy mountains and the next you'll be chatting to a dismembered goat head that gives you advice.

Mundaun is hauntingly beautiful, and tells one of the tightest horror tales of the year.
