A genuine surprise, Outer Wilds: Echoes Of The Eye is an expansion to one of the very best games of the past decade. Building upon the original game's unique brand of space-faring puzzle exploration, Echoes of the Eye swaps the vast cosmos for a single location, but thankfully one that is no less dense with content.

As was with the first game, so much of Echoes of the Eye's appeal hinges on its surprise factor (that's probably why the release itself was so steeped in mystery). Hell, to even access the expansion you have to solve a new puzzle in the main game - this is content you have to work for but, boy, is it worth it.

Taking a more horror-focused approach this time around, the expansion is tighter than the main game, but no less a joy to uncover the mechanics of. Figuring out how this new environment works to unlock the deepest secrets of the universe is a sci-fi lover's dream, and makes for a stunning cap on this incredible game everyone needs to play.
