10 Most Popular Sega Games - Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Disney's Aladdin
As if it wasn't enough for Mickey Mouse that a blue hedgehog topped him, now another Disney character is invading his Sega turf. That would be Aladdin, a game released to capitalise on the well-received 1992 movie starring Robin Williams.
There hasn't been a Disney game quite like Aladdin since, although some will argue the merits of The Lion King too. This is side-scrolling perfection (how many times have we said that about Mega Drive/Genesis titles?) from start to finish, and immediately enhances the atmosphere of the movie people had just seen. That's what a movie tie-in game should do.
The artwork style is unmistakably Disney, and it's actually incredible that Sega's machine was capable of pulling off such gorgeous sprites. Following the film's plot, Aladdin does a sterling job of being more than just a cash-in. It remains one of Sega's finest hours, and deserves to be played by everyone.
Throwing apples at guards never gets old, after all.
