In Tomb Raider 3, Lara searches the world for multiple fragments of an ancient meteorite - the same one that wiped out the dinosaurs. Centuries later, a tribe found the meteorite and fashioned a handful of artefacts out of the rock. When strange things started happening, and babies were born mutated, they fled leaving the artefacts behind.

Years later a group on one of Charles Darwin’s expeditions found the artefacts and took them. The artefacts were then spread across the world when each sailor died in different countries. The Infada Stone gave the user the power to levitate and shoot energy blasts. Element 115 powered an alien spaceship and is rumoured to enhance the powers of the other shards. The Ora Dagger allows the user to create lightning, summon creatures and make energy barriers that protect the user. Finally the Eye of Isis prevented ageing and allowed the user to shot green beams of energy. Combined, these artefacts could essentially make the user invulnerable.

The game’s main villain, Willard, reunited all of these artefacts and threw himself into the alien goo in the meteorite cavern and was turned into a giant spider monster. It was later revealed that there was a fifth fragment, the Hand of Rathmore, which would have transformed Willard into a Higher Being instead of a monster.

Simon is a writer, cat dad and presenter of a geeky radio show with his husband. He loves Doctor Who (except 10 who can get in the bin…only joking.) He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
