10 Most Predatory Loot Box & Microtransaction Systems In Video Games

8. Forza Motorsport 7

Nothing is safe from being segmented out into a loot system, and 2017 saw even the once-mighty Forza franchise stoop to the lowest of the low.

Now we have a series that used to be the bastion of the racing genre putting its fans at the mercy of "Mod Cards" - pay-to-unlock variables that let you do things like race at night, or in different weather conditions. Upon completion you'll unlock more credits (CR) that can help get better cars and parts, but once again, these very modifiers that make the game more interesting and exciting are locked behind a random number generator.

At time of writing, Forza 7 doesn't have a microtransaction system turning real cash into CR credits, however Turn 10 have confirmed they'll be "turning this on" very soon.

The idea of game features such as race modifiers - that have always been free across the entire racing genre for decades - now being "paid exclusives" is ridiculous, and quite frankly, insulting to those who've stuck by Forza all this time.
